I thrive on the energy and sense of wonder that children bring to everything that they do. They see the world through fresh eyes and remind me to marvel and be grateful for the everyday things that can often be overlooked. Their laughter and joy is contagious and I never feel more alive than when I am engaged in children’s play. I also love how unreserved and genuine children are. They wear emotions on their sleeves that we tend to hide as adults and remind me that it is okay to cry when I’m sad, dance when I’m happy, and ask for a hug when I need one.

I hope that they remember the genuine joy that spending my days with them brought me. That every day, they were excitedly greeted with a smile and hug or high five and accepted for exactly who they are. I hope that I can help them see that they are competent and capable of accomplishing whatever they set their minds to and that there are caring people in their life to support them in their journey.

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”

Homemade cinnamon oatmeal waffles with yogurt, banana, blueberries, and maple syrup on top! Waffles are a weekend tradition in our house and I look forward to them all week long!

I love to be outdoors and around people as much as I can. I spend my time hiking, biking, doing yoga, reading, and exploring new bookstores and coffee shops. One of my favourite ways to spend a day is to walk or bike around aimlessly discovering new places and meeting new people.
