I have fond memories of the teachers from my early childhood years who brought so much light and resilience into my life. They taught me to see the world through eyes of compassion and love. I hope to pass that on to all the children I am blessed to teach.
I love how genuine children are. That they wear their hearts on their sleeves and that they are all unique in their own ways. They are ultimately also our teachers as they remind us to live and bask in the wonders of the present moment, whatever that’s on a child’s mind—whatever knowledge she/he may have, they will share it openly and without hesitation.
I think my students will remember the warmth, joy, and love they felt in our classroom. I care for each of my students deeply, and some of my happiest moments are seeing the smiles on their faces and laughing together. Even if they don’t remember every specific moment, I hope they will always carry with them the feeling of being loved, valued, and safe. More than anything, I hope they remember that they are always loved, no matter how much time passes.
I believe that teachers should be genuine, loving, and intentional. By gearing the way we teach to meet each individual child’s needs based on their interests, comfort, and sense of readiness, children can learn in a way that is effortless and fun. I am flexible and can learn in a way that is effortless and fun. I am flexible and am always intently responsive to move accordingly to the needs of the children based on the context of each moment.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time in nature and preparing food for my loved ones. Going for walks and hikes brings me a sense of peace while also helping me stay physically healthy. I also love creating extravagant food platters for my friends and family to enjoy, as cooking and sharing food is one of the ways I express my love and care for others.
