In honor of National Day for Truth and Reconciliat

In honor of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation yesterday, our classrooms were filled with thoughtful stories, art, and conversations as our children explored what it means to care for one another and ensure every voice feels heard.

For us, honoring #OrangeShirtDay is a natural extension of how we live and learn together every day at Nido, by practicing empathy, holding space for big feelings, and growing as a compassionate community.

Swipe through to see a glimpse of our day. ➡️✨

Ever wonder what happens when you give toddlers full control over their art?

If you walk into a Nido classroom, you won’t see pre-cut crafts or identical art projects lined up on the wall. Instead, you’ll see moments like this!

During outdoor time, our toddlers gathered acorns and leaves around the school grounds.
Later, they brought those natural treasures to the art table to see what kind of magic they could make with green paint.🌿🎨

For us, it’s never about making a “perfect” picture, it’s about letting them test ideas, explore textures, and lead their own learning.

Knowing what to expect at each stage, and how much support to offer, can be challenging.

Our Family Workshop will explore child development, independence, and how a prepared environment can help young children participate more fully in everyday life.

To all the parents who watched their little ones step into class these past couple of weeks... 🥹💛

We know how big of a transition Back to School’ can feel, especially when your child is just 15 months old!
But as our toddlers settle in, they keep surprising us every day. Just watching them proudly take off their own shoes and explore their classroom shows us what happens when we trust their natural capabilities.

Here’s to a wonderful year of growing, learning, and taking those big first steps together at Nido! 🎒✨

Sometimes the best learning starts with a little problem to solve!

This playful rescue invitation gave the children a chance to experiment, and work things out in their own way. As they freed the animals, the experience also sparked conversations about animal names, habitats, and where they live!

These are the moments we love most at NIDO, when children have the space to try and make their own discoveries✨
