From “I Am an Artist” to “We Are Artists,” From “I Am an Artist” to “We Are Artists,” our creative journey continues with our first Artist Spotlight: Yayoi Kusama.

Inspired by the children’s love for dot markers, we explored Kusama’s artwork through observation and inquiry. What do you see? What colours and shapes do you notice?

The children then expressed their own ideas through pattern, repetition, and colour, each creating in their own unique way.

Since returning in January, our Primary class at N Since returning in January, our Primary class at Nido has been exploring Creative Expression as a language for sharing ideas and meaning.

Through our Egg Carton Transformation Project, children investigated how paper can change form by ripping, soaking, blending, pressing, and drying. Along the way, they observed colour shifts, texture changes, and even their own feelings moving from hesitation to confidence.

At Nido, inquiry based education invites children to ask questions, test ideas, and learn through hands on discovery.

We asked our friends, “What is it like to be kin We asked our friends, “What is it like to be kind?”

Their answers were thoughtful, honest, and so heartwarming. Through our conversations, we learned that kindness can look like sharing, helping a friend, using gentle words, and giving hugs.

At Nido, we believe kindness is something we practice every day. Even the smallest caring action can make someone feel seen, safe, and loved. 💖

Our students are learning how powerful their words Our students are learning how powerful their words can be. Today, we talked about kindness, empathy, and inclusion through a special apple activity.

We used two apples to represent people. When someone said unkind words, “Popli” the apple received a bump. When someone said kind words, “Sunny” the apple was given a gentle touch. On the outside, both apples looked the same. But when we cut them open, they were very different.

Sunny was bright and clean inside, showing how kind words make us feel happy and safe. Popli was bruised inside, reminding us that unkind words can hurt, even if we cannot see the damage.

Every small act of kindness makes a big difference. 💗

Our toddler classroom has been diving into an inqu Our toddler classroom has been diving into an inquiry on weather exploration for the past month 🌥️

During group time, our helper counted the days of the week and checked the cloudy weather outside.

We then explored warm and cold wind, feeling cool air from a fan and warmth from a hand warmer, and watching how both could move a scarf.

Through this hands on sensory experience, the children connected weather to real body sensations, deepening their understanding of “warm” and “cold” and why we dress differently for the changing seasons.

🎨 We are artists! Let’s take a look at our 🎨 We are artists!

Let’s take a look at our Pre-primary Inquiry this term. Creativity is all about working together, sharing ideas, and making something amazing as a team.

With air-dry clay, loose parts, and 3D art, the children are exploring, experimenting, and discovering how fun it is when ideas come together. They’re learning cooperation, communication, and problem-solving while seeing that every contribution counts!
